Different generations.
One connection.
Kindred brings people from different generations together to share time, stories, skills, laughter and experiences.
Not care. Connection.
Kindred isn't about one generation helping another. It's about both having something valuable to give.
Share time
Tea, walks, games, movies, outings or simply a good conversation.
Exchange knowledge
Technology, stories, cooking, music, life experience and new ideas can travel both ways.

Walk. Talk. Learn. Teach. Explore. Laugh. Meet again if you both want to.
Someone to look forward to.
You don't have to need care to want more people, more activity and more life around you.
For families living away
You may live in London, Dubai, Singapore or another Indian city while your parents live elsewhere. You can't always be there.

Kindred, explained.
Is Kindred an elderly-care service?
No. Kindred is primarily about intergenerational friendship and shared experiences. Appropriate everyday assistance may be part of a relationship, but Kindreds are not caregivers or medical professionals.
Who can become a Kindred?
College students, graduates, working professionals, homemakers, people who work from home, self-employed people, retirees and others with suitable time and the right temperament can apply.
Do Kindreds get paid?
Selected Kindreds receive a stipend for their time, along with recognition/certification for their contribution.
How are matches made?
We consider interests, personality, language, availability, location, mobility/accessibility and the type of relationship both sides would enjoy.
Can my parent live in another city?
Yes. Kindred is particularly relevant for families whose children live in another Indian city or abroad and want their parent to have a meaningful local connection.
Can an older adult join even if they don't need help?
Absolutely. You don't need to be dependent or require care. If you enjoy socialising, learning, teaching, exploring or simply having good company, Kindred is for you.
What happens after I apply?
We review the information, speak with you, complete the relevant checks and then make a thoughtful match. The first interaction is designed to be comfortable and appropriate for both people.
Why I built Kindred
My relationship with older adults began long before Kindred. I am a Master's in Physical Therapy graduate from the UK, and I have spent more than a decade working with older adults — running my own clinic and practising in some of the largest hospitals and clinics.
My love for this community began during my Master's thesis, which focused on elderly care and the growing needs of our ageing population. But it was the years I spent with my patients that made that interest deeply personal. I found that some of my most meaningful relationships were with the older people I cared for. They taught me patience, perspective, resilience and, often, more about life than I could ever teach them.
Over the years, I also discovered how much of everyday life can become difficult as we age — not because someone necessarily needs a caregiver, but because having another person beside you can make things easier, more enjoyable and more meaningful.
And then I began noticing something everywhere: older parents living alone while their children were in another city or another country. Families who loved each other deeply, but whose work, responsibilities and distance made it impossible to spend as much time together as they wished.
It made me wonder: What if we could create another kind of connection?
Not a caregiver. Not someone who simply “checks in”. Not a relationship built around dependence.
But a person from another generation who comes into your life as a friend — someone to have tea with, take a walk with, learn technology from, share stories with, go out with, laugh with and perhaps learn a little from each other.
I believe loneliness is one of the quietest epidemics of our time. And I also believe that the answer isn't simply to give older people more services. It is to give them more people, more connection, more purpose and more opportunities to keep sharing everything they have gathered through a lifetime.
That is where Kindred was born.
Kindred is built on a simple belief: every generation has something to give, and everyone deserves someone to look forward to seeing.
I hope Kindred can become that bridge — between parents and children who live far apart, between generations that don't always get enough time together, and between people who may never have met but have so much to offer one another.
With warmth,
Prerna Anand
